Robert Gordon – Chairman
Former President & CEO of Platform Computing Inc.
Mr. Gordon is an investor in early stage technology companies. In addition to serving as chairman of the PlateSpin board of directors, Gordon currently serves on the boards of Talent Technology Corporation, Embotics Corporation, HireDesk and Mindjet Corporation (Chairman). Most recently he was the President and CEO of Platform Computing. Prior to Platform, Bob was the European Venture Partner for the Internet Capital Group, Senior Vice President of Oracle Europe, Middle East & Africa, and President of Oracle Canada as well as holding executive positions with Bell Atlantic Enterprises, Nortel and IBM. He is a past Chairman of the Information Technology Association of Canada.
Firas Raouf
Venture Partner, OpenView Venture Partners
Firas Raouf is a Venture Partner at OpenView. Prior to joining OpenView, Firas was a Venture Partner at Insight Venture Partners. Before Insight, Firas was the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of eEye Digital Security - an Insight portfolio company. As a member of the senior executive team and board member, Firas focused on eEye's sales and marketing operations driving 100% revenue growth year after year. Prior to eEye, Mr. Raouf was a senior consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton from 1995 to 2000, in the Computing, Media and Telecommunication Group and the Operations Management Group. Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Raouf spent three years in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Group at Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis where he was responsible for the research, development and deployment of new process technologies. Mr. Raouf holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University and a Masters of Engineering Management from the Thayer School at Dartmouth College.
Scott Maxwell
Founder and Managing Partner of OpenView Venture Partners
Prior to founding OpenView, Scott Maxwell was a Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners, having joined Insight in 2000 as the Chief Operating Officer. At Insight, Scott led the effort to institutionalize the investment process, outbound program, value add program, and finance, legal, and administration departments. Post institutionalizing the investment strategy and infrastructure, Scott started leading deal work in 2001 and was the partner responsible for investing in eight Insight investments.
Scott was previously a Partner at Putnam Investments, where he was Managing Director, Corporate Development. Before joining Putnam, Scott was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers, where he was the Chief Financial Officer of the Global Equity Division and a member of the Global Equities Executive Committee. Prior to Lehman, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company from 1990 to 1994.
Scott graduated from M.I.T. with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Sigma Xi) and an MBA from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management. He has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Between his undergraduate and graduate programs, Scott worked as a Research & Development Engineer at two startup companies developing robotic systems and lectured at California State University, Sacramento.
Phil Reddon
Vice President, Investments of Covington Capital
Phil Reddon joined Covington in 2002. In his role as Vice President Investments, his responsibilities include analysis of new investment opportunities for the Fund and assisting in the management and monitoring of the Fund's existing investments. Prior to joining Covington, Phil spent six years at Bank of Montreal Capital Corporation as Managing Director for a $400 million private equity fund. Phil was head of the Technology Investment team, and sat on the investment committee, which was involved in the investment and approval process for over 60 companies. In his role at BMO Capital, he sat on the boards of eight companies. Prior to BMO Capital, Phil held various positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada. Phil currently sits on the Board of Directors of 1293551 Ontario Inc. (o/a Acura and Masstech Group), Platespin Ltd., Agile Systems Inc., Diaphonics Inc., Simex Inc. and Playdium Corporation.
Stephen Pollack
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PlateSpin Ltd.
As founder and CEO of PlateSpin, Stephen leads the overall business strategy for the company. Stephen is a seasoned IT veteran, with a strong history of creating products and services that exceed customer expectations. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in marketing, sales, development and lifecycle support of successful commercial software products in a variety of horizontal technology and vertical market segments.
Before joining PlateSpin, Stephen was Vice President, Product Management at FloNetwork Inc., a leading direct marketing and email software/services ASP. Under his leadership, the company established itself as the number one supplier of scalable software services to direct marketers and on-line publishers in an ASP context.
Prior to that, Stephen held a number of senior management and business unit management positions in a variety of business, marketing and technical disciplines with companies such as Fulcrum Technologies (now part of OpenText) and NCR Corporation and as an independent technology consultant. Stephen is a product of Queen's University, where he studied both Math and Computing Science and more recently completed business leadership training at the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario.
